Schick Flick

Fashion is the most powerful art. It shows the world who we are and who we’d like to be. Fashion is like an art but it’s not like painting. It’s not just there to look at. It has more importance, more relevance. One breathes, and lives fashion without awareness. It is all around us.Out of ignorance, someone can say, “fashion has no importance. I hate fashion". In response to someone who doesn’t know the name Gucci or Coco Chanel, in response to someone who does not know the pieces of timeless fashion, or the death and horrible loss of Alexander McQueen, I say: Do you get dressed every morning? It doesn’t matter if you stroll into your walk-in closet full of Louboutin’s, or if you open up a messy draw full of worn down buttons up shirt. You, as in everyone, is a part of fashion, and that is undeniable as it is. The difference between my character and an outsider of fashion is simply the belief that fashion is an art.

Fashion can change an individual. What you’re wearing speaks about yourself. As a fashion enthusiast, I am really addicted to it especially in styling. When I was a kid, I don’t care much about myself until I have joined a workshop which was modeling and of course it was related to fashion. I was worried and afraid to join in because I don’t really have much confidence within myself. But as the day goes by, I have learned to gain self-esteem and it really helped me to improve as an individual. Then on, as I grew up I have  realized that fashion is my field. So I decided to take up “Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Fashion Design" as my course in college at the University of San Carlos-Talamban Campus.

Part of being a fashion enthusiast, you have to be open- minded and considerate. Many people have suggested that I would post  tips about styling/daily trends. I’m not really the type of person who blogs or jot down important details. But I have decided to push through my limits and so I started to make a blog

Flashes of style is all about my own style/trends.

It's my first time engaging Myself in blogging.
I wore a midrib corset by MissC bazaar online shop,
Skater skirt, metallic gold blazer and boots.

Boho Chic

Hey schicks!Do you know what bohemian style is? Are you having confusions on how to wear bohemian? I can give you some tips on how to dress up as a bohemian and the do’s and dont's of Bohemian style. I decided to put up a Blog on how to dress up as a bohemian because I want to help my fellow Theresians in STC especially masscom students for their acquaintance party this Coming Aug 6, 2013 at the Golden peak hotel.

To start Off I'm giving you a short background of bohemian:
Reflecting on the fashion style Of "boho-chic"(Boho-chic is a style of female fashion drawing on various bohemian and hippie influences,) the Sunday Times thought it ironic that "Fashionable girls wore colorful, loose Clothing and it is just like the hippie style. The Bohemian look needs you to make use of ample accessories like earrings, hats, Purses, and belts. A wonderful Boho outfit will outline your figure and make You feel good inside.

Boho style comprises of:

High-Waisted Shorts

Printed Skirt/shorts/Skorts/leggings/top

Crop tops/midrib corset/corset

Fringe Tops

Breezy Dresses

Scarves
Used on the head, guitar neck or used in the host for belts

 Trousers

Boots/Sandals

Accessories

How to strut it:

1.) Layer your clothing; combine different Textures and patterns.. If you do decide to mix patterns, stick to a basic color scheme, and alternate the size of the patterns. Choose a warm, soft Colors. Examples include rusted orange, forest green, soft rosy pink, and deep Purple. Stick to nature-inspired tones.
2.) Flats, natural-material flip-flops (like leather, instead of plastic), and boots are perfect shoes for this trend.
3.) Wear scarfs and beanie hats.
4.) Try a necklace with A feather charm, wood bangles, or earrings made out of shells.
5.) A big part of the boho look is the comfortable and casual sandal. Usually this means sandals in Neutral tones, but pops of color can be a fun way to make this trend your own.
6.) The Right Dress Dresses and skirts are a big part of the boho look. Some of the dress trends are super long Dresses, prints, floral patterns, and bright colors paired with earthy tones.

Do’s:
1.) Boho is all about looking individual And natural. Earthy tones are best, with splashes of colors. Skirts and flowy shirts are good.
2.) Sandals would be the obvious choice. Have fun with it, and make it cute.
3.) Make it appear natural. Naturally Curly hair is good, or even a wavy texture will look great. Braids is also very Boho.
4.) Boho chic is synonymous With "accessories galore". Plenty Of bracelets, ankle bracelets, mix-and-match necklaces, and dangling earrings. Just make sure they're a noticeable part of your wardrobe.

Dont's:
1.) Don't overdo the layers and texture
2) You don't have to wear baggy clothes To be Boho.
3.) Make sure your outfit matches. There's a fine line between Boho Chic and looking like you tried to put on Every piece of jewelry you own.
4.) Do not forget that your hair and makeup must be in-keeping with your Clothing. Both loose hair and braids are beautiful just as a no-makeup look and Dramatic cats-eyeliner with red lips are equally lovely.
